Koshino, a real jewel of Japanese fashion, presented another stunning show atJFW. Her influences were drawn from traditional Japanese landscape painting and the artist’s palette, and the collection she delivered was truly a feast for the senses.
The show opened with designs in stark white with bold, ash grey ink brushstrokes adorning full, cotton voile skirts. The theme then moved into something evoking more of an Imperial Japan, with elegant folded drapes in black crepes, charmeuse and satin.
Following were a series of lush, vibrantly coloured pieces that could only be described as artist’s ball gowns; multicoloured inky prints, shimmering lurex throughout and dramatic silhouettes.
